OPTIMUM USE OF TUNNEL DRIVING MACHINES
EINSATZOPTIMIERUNG VON TUNNELVORTRIEBSMASCHINEN
The need for underground excavations has risen steeply in recent years, in relation to which costs have risen during the past 20 years by nearly 100 per cent above that of the volume of work. From this it must be concluded that tunnel construction methods need to be investigated in respect of their effectiveness and also that new processes must be brought into use. A significant development, in relation to its economy, may be recognised in mechanical tunnel construction. The optimum use of tunnel driving machines is analysed. (TRRL)
