A TEST ROAD FOR THE PROVING OF NEWLY DEVELOPED SURFACES

VERSUCHSSTRECKE ZUR ERPROBUNG DES NEU ENTWICKELTEN BELAGES

A composite system, consisting of plastic-modified cement concrete and an adhesive bonded joint, has been systematically tested in practice. Experience gained in the laboratory has been used and tested in producing the adhesive joint, the mixing and preparation of the plastic-modified cement concrete and the mechanized laying in practice and problems of after-treatment such as ensuring protection from evaporation and joint design have been clarified. Starting with small areas of surfacing in non-public places, the practical tests were carried out on concrete roads of various classes, including motorways. Observations were carried out over a period of two years. (TRRL)
