COMPARISON OF DUAL BRAKE VERSUS DISC BRAKE EQUIPMENT ON MAIN LINE HIGH SPEED PASSENGER CARS
The overlay of a tread brake system to the main disc brake system has shown a significant reduction in the amount of wheel tread damage and a corresponding increase in wheel life. The approach with regard to braking which has been taken to deal with these situations is described. Tests and evaluation on a dual brake system are described and comparative results are given.
