ZETA (URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION SCHEDULING PROGRAM)
This program deals with preliminary sequences of departures from line termini for all vehicles on a line, inclusion/exclusion route/vehicle decision-making, carry-over files (axfile); timetables for exit/entrance, names of termini and textual description of vehicles on all lines from a terminus, including the line and vehicle/schedule identification and times of departures, update of permanent files (termin); departure/arrival timetables for all vehicles from a depot, including line and vehicle/schedule identification, times, tracks and textual route description of every exit/entrance, update of permanent files (depot); tables for public use containing essential data on a line schedule (public). The program considers lines to be completely independent and does not take account of the overall flow of vehicles through a certain link on the network. Therefore the program does not supply adequate information for transport systems such as the underground railway, but it is to be used primarily for bus and tram scheduling. (TRRL)
