Dimensional Quality and Surface Roughness in a C.A.D/C.A.M System
Many research tasks deal with formalization of surface roughness prediction (arithmetic surface roughness: Rₐ, maximum surface roughness: Rₜ…). These surface qualities depend on parameters like cutting conditions, tools geometries, materials… The authors develop, in this paper a new approach for the concurrent engineering which makes it possible to link surface quality to dimensional quality. The authors' assistance structure to the design will integrate this model which allow to advise and to check the coherence of designer choices in the manufacturing process selection.
