THE ECONOMICS OF MARINE RELIQUEFACTION SYSTEMS FOR LNG SHIPS

The purpose of this paper is to review the factors which cause the author to conclude that the installation of a reliquefaction plant could offer a more attractive alternative to burning the boil-off purely from an economic point of view. Several other factors, noneconomic in nature, are touched on in passing as other reasons for installing reliquefaction equipment on board ship.
