Updated, Revised Roadmap Will Guide Future Pavement Preservation Research
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has made plans to update the "Pavement Preservation Research Roadmap," originally developed in 2008 and including both pavement and bridge preservation. Six umbrella topics were identified, covering all aspects of pavement preservation activities, as follows: (1) Asset Management, Pavement Management Systems and Pavement Preservation; (2) Treatment Selection and Design; (3) Materials; (4) Treatment Application; (5) Performance; (6) and Benefits. Priority rankings for topics were assigned in response to surveys of various stakeholders.
