Global Aviation Safety Plan 2020-2022
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has developed a Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP) to reduce the risk and number of aviation-related fatalities. This 2020-2022 edition of the GASP includes new goals and targets for Member States, regions, and the industry; tools to measure States' safety oversight capabilities; and recognition of the importance of safety risk analyses at the national and regional levels. The first part of the document covers planning aspects of the GASP. After an introduction explaining the GASP, the second chapter discusses roles and responsibilities among the various stakeholders. The third chapter examines the challenges and priorities in safety planning. The fourth chapter shares GASP goals, targets, and indicators. The fifth and last chapter of the first part describes safety performance measurement. The second part of the document covers implementation aspects of the GASP. The first and second chapters of this section look at GASP implementation at the regional and national levels, respectively. The final chapter details the global aviation safety roadmap. Three appendices address an organizational challenges roadmap, an operational safety risks roadmap, and implementation support.
