URBAN TRANSPORT PLANNING: THEORY AND PRACTICE
This book which covers the methodology of transportation planning and modeling devotes about 60 percent of its length to the theory of the subject. All phases of planning from data collection through travel demand forecasting to benefit-cost analysis are covered. The application of the theories are illustrated by a series of studies carried out over 20 years in Canberra, Australia. The studies range from long-term strategic planning to immediate action small-scale improvements dealing with area traffic control, bus priority, parking, and pedestrian circulation.
