Introduction to Blockchain and Airport Operations in a COVID-19 Environment
“Introduction to Blockchain and Airport Operations in a COVID-19 Environment,” held virtually on August 4–5, 2020, brought together senior airport executives; representatives from federal, state, and local government; and representatives from the technology, consulting, academic, engineering, and legal fields to discuss opportunities and challenges of implementing blockchain at airports. These proceedings are a compilation of the presentations and a factual summary of the ensuing discussions at the event. Sessions addressed: what blockchain is and how it is relevant to the airport industry; customer-facing applications; operations-facing applications; provenance tracking; privacy concerns; and data sharing.
