THE EFFECTS OF CHANGES IN ENERGY BALANCE AND IMPACT ON MARITIME TRANSPORTATION

In this publication the author presents a review of energy supply, demand and reserves, and analyzes the effect of changes in energy balance. The potential development and cost of alternate fuel sources and methods of energy conversion is discussed and the impact of changes in energy balance on transport demand, transport technology and transport energy consumption is studied. The paper presents some of the expected effects on maritime transportation technology and operation.
