LOADING AND UNLOADING OF GOODS IN URBAN ENVIRONMENT
VARUMOTTAGNING I STADSMILJOE
At present, poor delivery conditions lead to several difficulties. The distribution becomes time consuming and expensive due to delays at unloading, loading and traffic congestion. The working conditions for the lorry drivers engaged in goods deliveries are sometimes extremely poor due to stress, noise, vehicle exhaust and heavy lifts. In order to improve these matters, the following recommendations are made: (1) improvements of geometric design standard of the loading bay and its ramps, (2) improvements of equipment for goods handling, (3) improvements of internal communications and (4) improvements of working environment.
