A SIMULATION MODEL FOR ESTIMATING THE EFFECTS OF RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAMS

Based mainly on the data in the road data bank we are currently developing a new program on a minicomputer, which gives road network planners a straight and easy access to this valuable material. The program makes it possible to study the condition of the road network and traffic as well as the advantages and disadvantages caused by various reconstruction projects. At this stage the pilot program is finished, and it has been installed in the oulu district of the roads and waterways administration in order to get experiences for the further development of the program.(a) (TRRL)
