COMPENSATION PHENOMENA ASSOCIATED WITH A DC RAILROAD MOTOR

AUSGLEICHSERSCHEINUNGEN BEIM GLEICHSTROM-BAHNMOTOR

The state-of-the-art of the pulse triggering for small DC traction motors with classical means is described, as decribed by K. Blaufuss 45 years ago for the control performance of traction motors. The author describes an extension which is adequate for modern power electronics for the implementation of periodic excitation. The eddy currents within the iron of the motor are taken into consideration and their influence on the controllability is pointed out. Methods of compensation processes in nonlinear circuits at pulse triggering are analyzed. The effect of pulse triggering of the peak armature current is reduced by the freewheel diode to a value which can be accepted in practice under the condition of continuous operation.
