PARAWEB FABRIC IN PAVEMENTS: MODEL TEST RESULTS
The results obtained from a preliminary study, utilising model tests, into the use of paraweb fabric to enhance the performance of temporary pavement construction are presented. Paraweb is a composite material consisting of terylene fibres encased in a polyethylene sheath produced and marketed by the linear composites subsidiary of Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd. The parametric study has produced encouraging results as to the beneficial effects afforded by the use of the material and has yielded a useful insight into the assessment of suitable design criteria.
