CLOSING THE GAPS WITH ASSEMBLY LINE SPAN PLACEMENT
The paper reports on the span-by-span segmental construction of the record-length Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys. Seven Mile features box webs that have multiple shear keys, joints that are not epoxied and stressing tensions exposed within the box. Also, the segments will have no wearing course. Traffic will move directly on top of the concrete surface.
