MAINTENANCE REPAIRS TO THE VOLTURNO BRIDGE AT CASTELVOLTURNO
INTERVENTI DI RESTAURO MANUTENTIVO AL PONTE SUL VOLTURNO A CASTELVOLTURNO
The bridge across the Volturno River at Castelvolturno, Italy, is a three-arch (each of 51.7 M span) reinforced concrete structure that has been in service for 30 years. An illustrated article describes repair and strengthening operations (to the deck, arches and piers) to upgrade the structure to the higher dynamic loads of present day traffic. All works were carried out without stoppage to traffic. (TRRL)
