VISUAL ASPECTS OF MOTORWAY BRIDGES
The paper gives a brief definition of words necessary to describe the visual aspects of bridges. This is followed by a broader look with illustrations at the application of these words to particular bridges and details, with the view to selecting positive and negative visual features. Examples of good and unsuccessful bridges or their parts are shown and in each case a reason is given why the author considers certain details to be positive or negative. (Author/TRRL)
