SUCCESSFUL RURAL BUS TRANSPORT EXPERIMENT
EXPERIMENT MET DE STREEKBUXI GESLAAGD
In order to investigate the possibilities for introducing new forms of low frequency public transport in sparsely populated areas, an experiment was carried out in the north eastern part of the Netherlands. The experiment concerned low occupancy and low frequency bus lines. The buses were scheduled on a once every two hours frequency. A description is given of the transport volume and the opinions of the population. It is concluded that the low frequency bus lines are favourably judged by their users. A continuation of the bus lines is proposed. (TRRL)
