The report delineates results obtained from workshop efforts to summarize the state-of-the-art of knowledge concerning the behavior of wire rope operating in the ocean/ocean-air interface environment, to summarize the gaps in knowledge concerning the behavior of wire rope operating in this marine environment that must be filled for performance to be improved, and to build effective lines of communication between workers in this area.
