THE CONTRIBUTION OF FORENSIC-MEDICAL EXPERTS TO ROAD ACCIDENT ELUCIDATION
DER BEITRAG DES GERICHTSMEDIZINISCHEN SACHVERSTAENDIGEN ZUR VERKEHRSUNFALLAUFKLAERUNG
The precise reconstruction of a road accident occurrence requires the comprehensive analysis of objective proof. The forensic scientist has the task of providing information of the incident from a detailed investigation of clothing and above all from an objective study of the injured and the killed. These observations can give information about the position and behaviour of an injured pedestrian at the time of an accident, about directions of movement and about the question of who was driving a vehicle. By reference to an actual example from forensic-medical practice the close interaction of inquiry officers with traffic specialists is shown. (kfv/e). (TRRL)
