DETERMINATION OF FRACTURE-RESISTANCE VALUES USING THE CENTER-CRACKED TENSILE SPECIMEN
The results of a series of investigations at NRL are tabulated as guidelines for the use of the center-crack tensile specimen. These investigations will assist in the development of a standard test method for the determination of fracture resistance in terms of Kc, the linear-elastic fracture mechanics parameter for thin-sheet material. Some relationships are discussed which permit a simplification of testing procedures for screening purposes. (Author)
