EVALUATION OF MECHANICAL ICE CUTTER CONCEPT FOR USE IN DOMESTIC ICEBREAKING SERVICE
The report analyzes requirements for Coast Guard support in various domestic waterways and applies the mechanical ice cutter (MIC) Concept to meet these requirements. Use of the MIC on the Mississippi River to support winter commerce is treated in exhaustive detail and to a greater extent than other areas. (Modified author abstract)
