NEW COMPUTER PROGRAMS IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT PLANNING

JOUKKOLIIKENTEEN UUDET SUUNNITTELUOHJELMISTOT

The report deals with the computer programs developed for public transport planning. The following programs have been examined: UTPS, VOLVO, VBB. The main emphasis is laid on the VOLVO-system and its suitability for the Helsinki area. The VOLVO-system was tested and the results were reported and evaluated. The other systems have been studied only generally. As a special feature of the programs, their suitability for energy consumption calculations and network optimization were examined. (TRRL)
