DETECTION OF TRAFFIC BY PIEZOELECTRIC SENSOR
DETECTION DE TRAFIC ROUTIER PAR CAPTEUR PIEZOELECTRIQUE
In this study the authors demonstrate that linking a piezoelectric sensor, buried in the pavement, to a magnetic loop and a microprocessor makes it possible to obtain a very complete picture of the traffic supported by the pavement. The information obtained is the total number of vehicles and their cumulative loads; and for each vehicle, the type, speed, total weight and loading on each axle. On the other hand, the apparatus is capable of regular automatic calibration. All the data are stored for later analysis. (TRRL)
