STATIC AND CYCLIC TESTS OF BENDING AND FATIGUE CHARACTERISTICS OF PIPE CONNECTIONS FOR OFF-SHORE PIPELINES
Static and cyclic tests of bending and fatigue characteristics of pipe connections for off-shore pipelines, particularly those placed by the controlled catenary method, showed that the welded connection is superior to the threaded connection; however, considering the severity of the test, the full runout buttress thread was also found satisfactory for subsea pipeline service. A special hydril and the 8-round API connections were also tested.
