Sustainable Asphalt Pavements: A Practical Guide: Procuring & Evaluating Sustainability
This document focuses on sustainability in public project procurement. It is part of a four part series meant to provide an overview of sustainability to National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) members. This report covers specifying sustainable items in contracts, alternative sustainability bids, alternative technical concepts, sustainability qualifications-based contract request for proposals, reporting project metrics, and change orders. In addition, evaluating sustainability using rating systems is discussed including a look at five prominent U.S. rating systems, LEED, Greenroads, Envision, Green Globes, and INVEST.
