Upgrading of tracks through Woy Woy tunnel

This paper provides a brief history of the maintenance problems experienced in the Woy Woy Tunnel, a description of the methods adopted for the upgrading of the two (2) main line tracks, and a summary of construction progress to date. Special mention is made of the difficulties encountered with regard to ventilation, length of track possessions and hardness of the rock floor.
