Modern tamping machines in NSW

The State Rail Authority, being the largest rail system in N.S.W. has the largest Tamping Fleet in Australia. The fleet consists of both production tamping and specialised points and crossing tamping units. This article examines the future fleet size and the potential future types, as Management reviews ways of producing better track, more economically.
