Current and Future Developments of Maintenance Management for Bavarian Roads
A modern, efficient and safe transport infrastructure is a prerequisite for enabling mobility in a high-tech country. It’s the basic for competitive local conditions for industry and trade - and thus for the prosperity of a society. To ensure the high infrastructural standard on Bavarian roads, the Bavarian Road Administration currently invested an average of about 600 million euros per year to maintain the Bavarian road network. The aim is to make the most efficient use possible of the available budget. This is why the Bavarian Road Administration needs to use the best maintenance management system that exists. Therefore it is necessary to look for even better tools and resources every day to guarantee the quality of the roads and bridges. This is the only way to achieve an optimal cost/benefit ratio and to ensure mobility in the long term. This article reports on the current and future developments of maintenance management for Bavarian roads.
