TRAFFIC CRIMINOLOGY - RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS
VERKEHRSKRIMINOLOGIE - ERGEBNISSE UND FOLGERUNGEN
This is a comprehensive review of the definition of traffic criminology, the personality of traffic offenders, particularly the drunken driver, the relations between general and traffic criminality, the hit and run driver, driving without a driving licence, the aggressive personality and the connection with careless driving resulting in death or injury. A decisive factor is the personality of the offender and the intensity of his treatment. Criminal policy and the fixing of penalties should be guided more by criminological experience. Advice is given regarding legal penalties for traffic offences. (TRRL)
