PROCESS COMPUTER CONTROL SYSTEM ON SUBMARINE PIPELINE LAY BARGE
A description is given of a barge which has been equipped with a large scale process computer system to enable the efficient control of pipe laying operations. Under this system, information which cannot otherwise be obtained unless a character display or a dynamic graphic display is used to execute complicated calculations, is supplied to the operator in real-time and in a concentrated manner. This has improved the efficiency and safety of ship operation.
