THE SULPHATE RESISTANCE OF MORTARS AND CONCRETES CONTAINING FLY-ASH

RESISTANCE AUX SULFATES DES MORTIERS ET BETONS CONTENANT DES CENDRES VOLANTES

The authors describe the results of sulphate resistance tests carried out on mortar containing fly-ash. They compare their results to those obtained by other research workers. Although a direct comparison of the different tests is not possible because of variable test procedures, it is possible to draw some general conclusions: the resistance of mortar to sulphate is improved if 50% of the quantity of cement is replaced with fly-ash.
