The Best Complete Streets Policies of 2018
Complete Streets are a commitment to streets that serve all users. Each year the National Complete Streets Coalition looks at and scores newly passed Complete Streets policies based on elements such as vision, land use, users, design, performance measures, and implementation steps. In 2018, 66 new Complete Streets policies were adopted bringing the total number of policies to 1,477. This document examines trends in Complete Streets policies, lists the top policies of 2018, and explains the scoring methodology. Five communities, with policies passed in 2018, are profiled: Cleveland Heights, Ohio; Des Moines, Iowa; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Neptune Beach, Florida; and Huntsville, Alabama.
