Gender, Social Interaction, and Mobility Sharing
This paper examines the social interactions between passengers in rideshare situations, focusing on gender differences. The authors ask if social interaction impacts the usage and satisfaction level of shared mobility; if there is a gender difference in whether social interaction acts as a motivation or deterrent; and if there is a gender difference in the usage and satisfaction with mobility sharing services. The authors examine the impact of user experiences and find that positive and negative social interactions affect passengers’ usage and satisfaction levels, with a significant gender difference in attitudes.
