SEA MESH HULL CLEANING SYSTEM
A new technique is described for the removal of marine growth from the hulls of ships. The concept, very simply, involves the use of a grid work or net made of lightweight, plastic cord containing approximately 10 grains per foot of PETN explosive. The net has a one foot square grid that can be shaped to conform to the hull and appendages of a ship. The net is placed by divers and subsequently detonated to produce the cleaning action. Estimated savings in cost and voyage time are included.
