PROCO ENGINE - A STRATIFIED CHARGE ENGINE FROM FORD
PROCO-MOTOR - EIN LADUNGSSCHICHTUNGSMOTOR VON FORD
To fulfil future legal requirements on consumption and exhausts simply and at lower cost, Ford Motors wishes to convert its otto engines to proco combustion, i.e. Stratified charge. This is a procedure which works by dividing the combustion space into sections of various mixture composition, and it was developed by Ford Motors. The article describes the construction and mode of operation of the engine. (TRRL)
