Evaluation of Factors Influencing Roundabout Capacity
The objective of this research project is to develop an improved model for estimating roundabout traffic operations characteristics including vehicle delay and capacity. Specifically, the model will be designed to account for how specific geometric, operational, and environmental factors influence the gap-acceptance behavior of drivers entering a roundabout and thereby predict the influence of these factors on roundabout operations and safety.
