FIDUS DIESEL EMULSIFIER

The article describes the diesel fuel emulsifier developed by Fidus Controls Ltd. The unit is designed to be fitted to a diesel engine and is said to offer savings in fuel consumption of some 10% as well as reductions in engine noise and no exhaust emisions. The unit operates by emulsifying diesel fuel and water at constant volume, the mixture then being fed to the engine injectors in the normal way. On injection, the oil burns normally causing evaporation of the water resulting in increased combustion efficiency. Resulting fuel savings depend on vehicle usage as on urban, short-distance, journeys savings will be greater than on motorway operations.
