THE TEHRAN LAND USE TRANSPORTATION PLANNING MODEL AND POLICY EVALUATION PROCEDURE

The paper outlines the design and implementation of a policy evaluation procedure for the urban region of Tehran, based upon a predictive land-use transportation model and an associated evaluation model. After a discussion of the main issues, the regional growth, land-use, transportation and evaluation submodels are described. There follows a statement of the regional objectives and a description of policy tests carried out. Examples are given of the evaluation of a land-use and a transportation policy test, followed by a summary of the evaluation system, centered around the model, set up for Tehran. (a) (TRRL)
