THE UNSTEADY LIFT FORCE ON A RESTRAINED HYDROFOIL IN REGULAR WAVES
The unsteady lift forces on a restrained hydrofoil in regular head and following waves of various wave lengths were measured at the steady zero lift angle, two submergence depths, and several foil speeds. A comparison of the experimental forces with linearized unsteady and quasi-steady theoretical forces revealed inadequacies in both theories. (Author)
