PLANNING THE LOS ANGELES DOWNTOWN PEOPLE MOVER
This article presents some of the new and exciting things that are happening to the downtown area of the City of Los Angeles. The project is the Downtown People Mover. The excitement is caused by the application of modern technology to provide transportation, reduce congestion, and add momentum to the development and revitalization of the Central Business District. This article describes the system briefly, its planning and integration into the City, particularly how the planning process affects some design criteria and aesthetic guidelines. (Author)
