MOTION OF A SHIP AT THE FREE SURFACE
Forced harmonic heaving motion of a ship at the free surface of an inviscid incompressible fluid is analyzed. Added mass and damping are determined using finite element techniques. Isoparametric elements with curved boundaries allow accurate representation of the hull shape. A computer program is developed and results are found to agree closely with previously obtained theoretical and experimental results. (Author)
