Investigation of the Physical and Rheological Properties of Trinidad Lake Asphalt Modified Bitumen
Trinidad lake asphalt has been used as a modifier to blend with the traditional petroleum bitumen. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA) on physical and rheological properties of Trinidad Lake modified asphalt (TLMA). Test results showed that TLMA increased the softening point value of asphalt, while it decreased the ductility value and the penetration value. And this study also evaluated the effect of TLMA on rheological properties of TLMA. Test results showed that there was marvelous compatibility of TLMA. TLA enhanced the high-temperature stability and rutting resistance of conventional bitumen.
