SURVEY OF REDUCED SPEEDS, OCTOBER 1974
The objective of this study is to determine the effects of energy conservation measures on travel, and accident and fatality rates. Regional/state/local govenment, city and state agencies can supply information on vehicle miles of travel and speed trends. Lack of knowledge concerning the relationships between certain energy control measures (reduced gasoline consumption, speed limits, traffic volume, increased number of small cars) and the resultant accident and fatality rates.
