ANALYSIS OF VARIOUS TRAFFIC SITUATIONS AS A BASIS FOR STRESS MEASUREMENT
DIE ANNALYSE VERSCHIEDENER VERKEHRSSITUATIONEN ALS BASIS ZUR BEANSPRUCHUNGSMESSUNG
An experimental section of road on the public road network was selected for the carrying out of the field study of stress on drivers, in which the bast measuring vehicle was used. The section is about 250 km long, takes about four hours driving, and is set out as a circular course. It was classified according to individual traffic situations. Potential stress on the driver associated with this section of road was examined. Using methods of work psychology and the questionnaire on work analysis, the demands and resultant difficulties of the individual traffic situations were determined. A profile of stress was drawn up for the part of the road which passes through a town centre, and this forms a basis for formulating the hypothesis for the main study. (TRRL)
