Methods for numerical estimation of the traffic safety level at at-grade intersections
Unique methods of numerical calculations for refined estimation of requirements to traffic safety and diagnostic evaluation regarding at-grade intersections, both controlled with traffic lights and uncontrolled, are proposed. The first estimation method is functionally dependent of type and the number of conflict points as well as vehicle and pedestrian traffic intensity at each conflict point, reflecting conflict situations in the applied traffic patterns at the specified intersections. The second estimation method uses data on types and the number of conflict points only.
