Online Consumption and Mobility Practices: Crossing Views from Paris and NYC
Very little empirical work currently exists on how people are changing their consumption practices and their mobility practices due to the development of e-commerce and the diversity of stakeholders, goods consumed and related delivery methods. The authors conducted a large-scale exploratory survey, in order to obtain new data on the consumption and mobility practices of the population of Paris and New York City (NYC). The objective was to contribute to the development of scientific and technical knowledge, particularly with regard to emerging practices in the rapidly evolving delivery industry, and in turn, to facilitate the understanding and assist the decision-making of public authorities.
