Preserving Connecticut’s Bridges: the Condition and Funding Needs of Connecticut's Aging Bridge System
This report examines the structural condition of bridges in Connecticut. It finds that 308 bridges (7%) are structurally deficient which an average age of 69 years. It lists 25 of the most heavily traveled of the structurally deficient bridges in each county with information on year built, average daily traffic (ADT), and location. It also lists Connecticut bridges with the lowest individual condition score for deck, substructure or superstructure including year built, ADT, and location. The report recommends that Connecticut improve the condition of its bridges to provide reliable mobility and stimulate economic growth.
