INFLUENCE OF THE POSITION AND NUMBER OF STRANDS IN THE ANCHORAGE MECHANISM IN PRETENSIONED BEAMS

INFLUENCE DE LA POSITION ET DU NOMBRE DES TORONS SUR LE MECANISME D'ANCRAGE DANS LES POUTRES PRECONTRAINTES PAR ADHERENCE

This study is a continuation of two investigations on the anchorage mechanism of the main types of reinforcement, notched wires and seven-wire strands which have been the subject of 2 theses. These two theses dealt with the influence of concrete parameters (compressive strength) and reinforcement parameter (surface conditions, pretensioned force, and relaxation mode); they were concerned only with single, centred reinforcement. This thesis observes the anchorage mechanism in real cases of arrangement of several mechanism in real cases of arrangement of several reinforcements by extrapolating the results of previous studies. The aim of this extrapolation is to introduce new parameters relating to the concrete, (heterogeneity) or to external factors (thermal treatment). The second aim of the thesis is to extend the knowledge of the role of certain elements on the establishment of prestressing, such as the compression stress of concrete and strand interaction.
